It’s a Basket Carnival!
Posted by Tina
Laura from I'm an Organizing Junkie loves baskets so much that she is hosting a basket carnival! She's called upon all basket lovers to share how they use baskets/containers in their home so I thought I'd share how I use baskets and containers in our home :)
I'm sure you've already seen how I used some baskets in my kitchen drawers. I also put some in the drawer I keep my kitchen towels.
Under the kitchen sink, I have a basket to keep the cleaning products together. (That really needs to be de-cluttered *adding that to my to-do list*)
In the kitchen cupboards I use a few baskets to keep things in order. I've only just started doing this and because DH cooks as well, he's not always putting things back where they go...yet!
Don't look too closely at the food product in there. I took this photo before I went grocery shopping so there's a lot of things missing...lol I had to throw away a lot of my baking stuff because it was all past their due dates! It just goes to show the last time I was doing some serious baking!
I blogged about the homework box I put together for the kids on my other blog. A little basket is used for the baby's favourite books. This is kept on a shelf on the tv cabinet so it's easy for her to get to. (Apologies for the blurry photo!)
I keep a little basket on my bookshelf with pens, little notebooks, envelopes and my address labels. Under the basket you can see my box that I keep greeting cards in. I figured that this should keep me from buying too many. If the box is full, then I'm not allowed to buy any more (cos I said! LOL) It's working so far!
Oh and I also have a basket for the baby's nappy change needs. This sits in the corner of the lounge room because I usually just change the baby on the floor in there. We did use a change table when she was a new born but she wriggles around so much now and hates getting her butt changed that it's safer to do it on the floor!
I also love to use plastic tubs for any parties that I'm organising. I got this idea from my stepmum. I use a plastic tub for each party and because I buy things months ahead of time, it keeps everything together and I don't have to worry about going looking for something that I bought ages ago for a party but put it in a "safe place". The tub in the middle is actually one that has some pink kitchen things that I bought for DD15. I started her "glory box" and she told me she wants everything pink for her kitchen.
I use baskets in other parts of the house. I was going to show pictures of my linen closet but it's such a mess at the moment I thought I'd keep that for another time so I can show 'before' and 'after' shots :)
So there you go....some of my basket use! Now I'm heading over to Org Junkie's to see how everyone else uses baskets so I can get some more ideas!!
If you enjoyed this post, shout me a coffee!

Love all your great uses for baskets! Baskets are just the best, aren’t they? We continued with organizing tonight in our kitchen, and we made sure to use up some more baskets, of course. LOL

What a great idea for the cards and the party tub! I am so going to use that idea!
I forgot to put what a great idea for the kitchen towels! We home school so there is never homework but I may adapt it to put each child’s lessons in a basket. Thanks for the fantastic idea!
